Lost a nut in the mud on the trail, or rounded one off during a wheel change? This is the genuine Mopar part 6036747AA - 1/2-20 thread, 60-degree conical seat and a chromed closed-end head, exactly what holds the wheel on your Jeep from the factory. Sold as a single nut, so you order as many as you actually need.
A wheel nut is the part nobody thinks about until one goes missing - and then the vehicle stays put. Lost on the trail, rounded off by an impact gun or seized after a salted winter: in each case the safe answer is the original part.
This is Mopar catalogue part 6036747AA. A 1/2"-20 thread, a 60-degree conical seat and a closed, chromed head - exactly as it leaves the factory. You buy a single nut, so you can replace the one you lost or build up a full set.
Closed chrome head with a 60-degree conical seat at the base.
Thread
1/2"-20 UNF
Seat
conical, 60 deg
Packaging
single nut
Key benefits
Genuine Mopar part - the same number the factory fits, with no gamble on an aftermarket nut with a different seat angle.
1/2-20 thread - the stud standard on Jeep Wrangler JK, Cherokee and many Dodge and RAM models.
60-degree conical seat - centres the wheel on the stud; the angle has to match the seat in the wheel, otherwise the nut works loose.
Closed-end head - the stud thread stays shielded from salt and mud, so removal after the winter is not a fight.
Sold singly - buy the one you lost or a full set, without paying for nuts you do not need.

The Mopar catalogue also lists this number for the Jeep Cherokee XJ and Grand Cherokee and for the Dodge Dakota, Durango, Nitro and RAM 1500/2500/3500. Before ordering a full set, check the OE number against your vehicle or remove one nut and verify the thread and the seat angle.
Installation
Tighten the nuts with a torque wrench, in a star pattern, to the figure in your vehicle manual - an impact gun is the usual cause of stripped threads and rounded heads. The conical seat in the wheel and in the nut must share the same angle, otherwise the joint works loose. Re-check the torque after the first few dozen kilometres following a wheel change.
Why it is worth it
A genuine Mopar number, with no compromise on the part that holds the wheel on.
The chromed closed head shields the stud thread from salt and corrosion.
Sold singly - order exactly the quantity you need.
Not sure this is the right nut for your wheel? Send us the VIN or a photo of the seat - we run a workshop, so we can check it with you.
Frequently asked questions
Is this one nut or a set?
One nut. You pick the quantity - most wheels take 5 nuts each, so 20 per vehicle plus spares.
What thread does it have?
A 1/2"-20 UNF thread, the imperial standard used on Jeeps and on many Dodge and RAM models.
Will it fit my alloy wheel?
The nut has a 60-degree conical seat. If your wheel has a conical seat at that angle and 1/2-20 studs, it fits. Wheels with a ball seat or a separate washer need a different nut.
Which numbers does it replace?
According to the Mopar catalogue this part replaces J4006956 and 6036310AA.
Which vehicles is it for?
Confirmed fitment is the Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited, 2007-2018. The Mopar catalogue also lists the Jeep Cherokee XJ and Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Dakota, Durango, Nitro and RAM 1500/2500/3500 - check the OE number against your vehicle before ordering.
