Dash cams and action cameras

Dash cams, action cameras and 360° cameras: Osram ROADsight dash cams (1500, 2500, 3500, 3500R, PRO 20, PRO 30 and 50) and the OCSC1N wired reversing camera, the three-channel BlackVue DR750X-3CH Plus with the CM100 LTE module, Midland H3 and H9 action cameras and the Insta360 X5 with an invisible selfie stick.

What to look for in a camera

For a dash cam, the key points are resolution, field of view (for example 110° or 140°), HDR for better footage against the light and GPS logging of position and speed. Front-and-rear models also record the road behind you. A BlackVue with the LTE module can stream to the cloud, which needs a SIM card and a permanent power feed. For filming off-road trails, action and 360° cameras mounted outside the vehicle are the better choice. Off-road sat navs are in GPS navigation.
