Plugging a puncture off road

A plug kit fixes a tread puncture without taking the tyre off the rim: remove the object, ream the hole, push a cemented plug in with the needle and trim the excess. The repair will get you to a tyre shop, where it is worth having it checked. Sidewall cuts cannot be fixed with a plug. You will also need a compressor or pump and a gauge – see Tyre Accessories. The inner tube kit suits ATVs and motorcycles running tube-type tyres.
