A lamp for working on the vehicle

An inspection lamp should have a magnet or hook and a swivelling head – clip it to the wheel arch or bonnet and light up the job without holding it. A telescopic model reaches behind the engine guard or deep into the engine bay. An LED flare placed on the road or the roof makes a stranded vehicle more visible after dark; it does not replace a warning triangle where one is required, but it is a useful addition. A camping lantern with several modes and warm white light works well over a table or in a tent.
