Ratchet and Tie-Down Straps

Load-securing straps: Reese straps in 182 cm and 4 m (pairs), a 50 mm × 3.5 m 7.5 t three-point car transporter strap, ARB straps for the Elements 60 l fridge and the Base Rack, one- and two-piece ratchet straps (including a 25 mm × 3 m strap with claw hooks, LC 400 daN), 2.5 and 5 cm self-retracting straps, corner protectors and IMMI Boat Buckle products.

What to look for

For load securing, the figure that matters is LC – the lashing capacity in daN on the strap label – not the breaking strength. Protect a strap running over a sharp edge of a box or fridge with a corner protector, as webbing under tension cuts easily. On a car transporter, tie the wheel down with a three-point strap over the tyre so the suspension is not loaded. Self-retracting straps do not tangle or flap in the wind. For light items, bungee cords will do.
