Choosing a clamp

The diameter range in the name is what matters – the clamp should grip the handle of a shovel or axe, a torch or an extinguisher body in the middle of its range, not at the limit. Fix long items at two points. A Go-Between spacer lifts the item off the surface to clear rack rails or MOLLE panels. An extinguisher in the vehicle should be held so it cannot move under braking and stays easy to reach. For larger luggage use ratchet straps.
