CB radio and aerial hardware: the CRT Mike II, ProComm SF-2 Superflex 3/8" aerials (65 cm) singly and as a Double Truck pair, a JBC-305 aerial spring, 3/8" mounts with SO-239 connectors – RoadPro Heavy Duty, Sirio and Wilson Gum Drop – a CB adaptor and an aerial bar for the Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU.

Fitting the aerial

The CRT Mike II packs the whole radio into the microphone, so it fits easily into a cramped cab. Range depends mostly on the aerial: a short 65 cm aerial shrugs off branches but reaches less far than a longer one. The mount needs a solid earth to the body, and once fitted the aerial must be tuned with an SWR meter. A spring under the aerial protects it and the mount when it hits a branch.
