Kitchenware and Essentials

Camp cookware and utensils: GSI Outdoors cook sets (Bugaboo Ceramic Base Camper, the Destination Kitchen Set 24 for four), the Stanley Adventure four-person cook set, the Primus Litech Trek Kettle, a Rockland 800 ml kettle, a Mil-Tec 1.3 l percolator, Mil-Tec and Wild Camp mugs, BCB mess kits, the Gerber ComplEAT, an Offlander spork, GSI Ring cutlery, folding tongs and spoons, hip flasks and the BCB Jerry Can collapsible 10 l water carrier.

Choosing cookware materials

Aluminium is light and heats quickly; stainless steel is heavier but copes better with knocks and campfire heat. Ceramic-coated pans are easier to clean when water is limited – use wooden or silicone utensils with them. Nesting sets take up less space in the vehicle. A collapsible water carrier is handy for fetching water away from the car and packs almost flat when empty.

Stoves and burners are in Stoves, grills and coffee makers, and trail meals in Survival food.
