OSRAM ROADsight 3500R combines a front dash cam with a rear camera to record the journey in both directions. The front camera records at 1296p while the rear camera provides 1080p recording. A 140° front and 120° rear field of view gives the system broad coverage of the road and the area around the vehicle.
The front camera records at 1296p and 30 frames per second. The rear camera records at 1080p. Its 140° front field of view captures a broad section of the road ahead, while the 120° rear camera adds coverage behind the vehicle.
HDR supports recording in high-contrast conditions. A built-in microphone records audio, while the integrated speaker allows sound to be played back with recorded footage.
Integrated GPS records vehicle location and speed information. The G-sensor reacts to an incident and automatically protects the relevant file, helping to prevent important footage from being overwritten during normal recording.
ROADsight 3500R supports parking mode. According to OSRAM, the system can record up to 30 seconds of video after motion is detected while the vehicle is parked. Parking mode on the ODC3500R requires the matching ROADsight Hard Wire Kit 3500, which is not included with the standard camera set.
Time-lapse recording is also supported. OSRAM's family comparison identifies this function on the 3500R as requiring the matching Hard Wire Kit.
OSRAM specifies compatibility with 12/24 V vehicles. The front unit uses a 3M adhesive mounting solution. A USB power cable and trim removal/installation tool are included, and the camera uses a USB-C connection.
The dash cam supports microSD cards with capacities up to 128 GB. A memory card is not included and must be selected separately in accordance with the device requirements.
The use of dash cams and the subsequent handling of video recordings may be subject to local privacy, data protection and personal-rights legislation. OSRAM notes that requirements vary between countries, so recording, storage and sharing should always comply with the rules applicable where the device is being used.
