OSRAM LEDsBIKE X REAR LEDBRL106 is a rechargeable rear LED bicycle light featuring an integrated brake-light function. Its sensor detects deceleration and automatically provides a more pronounced light signal to help alert traffic approaching from behind. Three operating modes are available: Steady, Automatic and Flash.
Steady mode provides continuous rear light output, while Flash mode uses a flashing signal and offers a stated runtime of up to 33 hours. Automatic mode manages the light according to the product's built-in control logic. OSRAM states that the brake-light function remains active regardless of the selected mode.
The light uses a lithium-ion battery system with a nominal voltage of 3.7 V. Charging is via USB-C and takes up to 2 hours. Battery and charging status indicators are built into the product. The OSRAM user instructions show a USB-A to USB-C charging cable.
The housing is made from black ABS with a transparent acrylic optical element. A flexible rubber strap allows quick, tool-free mounting to the seatpost. The light should be firmly secured and correctly aligned so that its light output is not obstructed. OSRAM does not state a confirmed compatible seatpost-diameter range in the reviewed documentation.
OSRAM explicitly states that LEDBRL106 is not approved for use under the German StVZO. This is a German regulatory limitation and should not be presented as a universal statement for every country.
For use in Poland, bicycle lighting must meet the applicable requirements for rear red position lights, including visibility and mounting conditions. Flashing rear position lights are permitted, but OSRAM does not publish a product-specific confirmation of the 150 m visibility requirement for LEDBRL106. For this reason, the product should not be advertised as having confirmed Polish road-light approval on the basis of the available documents alone.

Secure the light firmly to the rear of the bicycle and ensure that the light output remains unobstructed. The OSRAM instructions illustrate an installation height of 250–1,200 mm above the ground. The product has its own rechargeable battery and controls, so no 12/24 V wiring harness, relay or external switch is required.
Does the brake function require a connection to the brake lever?
No. The integrated acceleration sensor detects deceleration without a wired brake connection.
How long does the battery last?
OSRAM specifies up to 33 hours in Flash mode and up to 17 hours in Steady mode. A separate runtime for Automatic mode is not published.
Is the light waterproof?
The specified rating is IP54. It provides protection against splashing water within that rating but does not indicate suitability for immersion.
Is the light road approved?
OSRAM states that it is not approved under the German StVZO. Road-use requirements differ by country. The reviewed OSRAM documentation does not provide confirmation of the 150 m visibility criterion applicable to bicycle lighting in Poland.
Is a charging cable included?
Yes. OSRAM documentation confirms included charging equipment, and the user instructions illustrate a USB-A to USB-C cable.
