Metalcloak 3.5” Lift Installation on Jeep Wrangler JLU 2.0 – Stability, Comfort, and Off-Road Capability

Every Wrangler has huge off-road potential, but it’s the right modifications that truly unlock its capabilities. Recently, a Jeep Wrangler JLU 2.0 came to our workshop, and we equipped it with a Metalcloak 3.5” suspension lift. The result? More ground clearance, refined geometry, and a much more confident driving experience—both on the trails and on the road.

What we installed

The upgrade combined proven components from Metalcloak and Falcon, designed not only to raise the vehicle but also to improve its handling and overall performance:

• Metalcloak 3.5” springs – the foundation of the lift.
• Adjustable rear panhard rod with relocation bracket – to keep the axle centered after the lift.
• Metalcloak front upper control arms – installed to correct caster angle, which has a major impact on steering stability and precision.
• Metalcloak sway bar links – matched to the new ride height.
• Falcon shocks – delivering full control and comfort across any terrain.
• Bump stops – tuned to work with the new springs and suspension travel.

To finish off the build, we swapped the OEM wheels for a set of KMC KM54078550918, which not only enhance the Wrangler’s stance but also complement the lift perfectly.

Geometry perfected by experience

Installing a lift is more than just bolting on parts—the real magic lies in the geometry. At Szekla4x4, we’ve developed our own geometry settings, refined over years of daily work on Jeep Wranglers. Thanks to this know-how, the vehicle now drives stable, predictable, and comfortable, with noticeably more precise steering response.

The results in numbers

The change in bump stop mounting height shows the real difference:

• Before the lift: 11 cm
• After the lift: 20 cm

That’s nearly double the working clearance, giving the Wrangler a whole new level of off-road capability and confidence when tackling obstacles.
